2025 Catsachusetts Judges

As a TICA chartered club, Catsachusetts invites TICA licensed judges from all over the world to our show. There are several levels of judges, ranging from Trainee to Approved Allbreed.

A TICA judge does not know the cats name, the owner, the breeder or the title of the cats being judged. They will know the entry numbers, breeds, categories, divisions, colors/patterns, age of the cat on the day of the show, classification (kitten, adult, alter, etc.) and the sex of each cat to be judged. Every breed of cat which is recognized by TICA has a written breed standard describing the characteristics which would make for the “perfect” version of that breed. The judges are not, technically, judging the cats against each other, but against that “ideal cat” described by the standard.

In the finals of an Allbreed ring, the judge will select the top cats (longhairs/shorthairs) based on the number of cats competing in the ring (ex. top 10 for 25 cats, top 9 for 24 cats, etc.) In the finals of a specialty ring, the judge awards the longhair breeds and the shorthair breeds separately.
